As of today, GTA 6 is exactly one month away. November 19, 2026 is 31 days out, and the November 12 preload is 24 days out. After nearly three years of trailers, delays and date theories, the final stretch is short enough to put on a single page.
So here is that page, built on one rule: a date is only on the calendar if Rockstar published it. Everything else is somebody's model, however confident the headline sounds.
The confirmed calendar: two dates
That is not an understatement. Between today and launch, Rockstar has published exactly two dates.
| Date | What happens | Source |
|---|---|---|
| November 12, 2026 | Digital preload opens | Rockstar |
| November 19, 2026 | Launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S | Rockstar |
Nothing else is scheduled. No showcase, no feature deep dive, no second trailer, no map release, no PC announcement, no review embargo date, no going gold post.
The reported but unconfirmed layer
These are real reports from credible outlets or insiders with track records. They are not announcements, and several have already slipped once.
- Review copies before the end of October. Insider NateTheHate, with Insider Gaming separately reporting that an embargo lifts before launch. Full breakdown here.
- PC in Q1 2027. GamesBeat, citing four industry sources. Well sourced by rumour standards, still entirely unannounced by Rockstar.
- Discs around December 2026. Insider reporting on the physical release following the code in box launch.
- The Glasgow employment tribunal runs to November 18. Reported by Eurogamer, one day before launch. A ruling before release is not realistic.
The dead date list
This is the part that saves you time in the next month. Every one of these was presented somewhere as a GTA 6 date. None was real.
- August 4, 2026: the Trailer 1 body cam timestamp theory. Nothing happened.
- October 15, 2026: the cadence projection headline genre. A trailer did arrive that day, but the projection was pattern fitting, not sourcing, and the reasoning was wrong even where the date landed.
- October 21, 2026: still on the dead list.
The rule that keeps working: if a date is not on rockstargames.com or in a Newswire post, somebody built it from a spreadsheet.
What to do in each of the four remaining weeks
Week of October 19: storage and account housekeeping
The install size has never been announced, which is itself a reason to over provision rather than guess. Clear space now, check your console firmware, and make sure the Rockstar account tied to your pre-order is the one you will actually play on. Our preload checklist covers the mechanics.
This is also the week to lock down your spoiler posture, because if review copies really go out this month, spoiler season starts in October, not November. The spoiler avoidance guide is more useful now than it will be in three weeks.
Week of October 26: the scam window opens
Fake early access offers scale up as launch approaches, and local news in Miami has now started warning about them directly. There is no early access. There is no beta. There is no legitimate way to play before November 19. Anyone offering one is running a scam, and our pre-order scam guide lists the patterns.
Week of November 2: reviews and nominations
If the embargo reporting holds, this is roughly when reviews become plausible. It is also when Game Awards jury nomination voting typically happens, which is why GTA 6 clearing the eligibility cutoff by one day matters.
Week of November 9: preload week
November 12 is the only thing you need to act on. Start the download the moment it opens and leave it alone. Launch night congestion is a solved problem if your download finished a week earlier.
What is still unannounced, in one list
Worth keeping handy, because a great deal of confident content exists about all of it:
- The total radio station count, any station lineup, any tracklist, and whether self radio or custom music exists
- How the dynamic score behaves in play, despite Justice being confirmed as original score composers
- Whether a first person mode exists at all
- Any official map of Leonida, or the relative position of any region or district
- Anything about Ambrosia beyond its name
- GTA Online for GTA 6, in any form
- The final install size
- Whether GTA 6 has gone gold
- Vehicle tuning, street racing, any stadium or playable sport, crossplay, split screen
- Any DLC, expansion or season pass
- The development budget
A note on the next 31 days of coverage
Expect a spike in three genres: countdown pieces padded with recycled trailer stills, "leaked" content that is either AI generated or from the 2022 breach, and "Rockstar confirms" headlines that are actually fans reading a trailer frame. The launch trailer breakdown is a useful reference point for what was genuinely shown versus what was inferred.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many days until GTA 6 releases?
31 days from October 19, 2026. The launch date is November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
When does GTA 6 preload start?
November 12, 2026, one week before launch. This is confirmed by Rockstar and is one of only two published dates remaining.
Is there any chance GTA 6 is delayed again?
Take-Two's CEO has said it will not be delayed again, and the launch trailer has shipped, which is historically a point of no return. Nothing is impossible, but a third delay at one month out would be unprecedented for Rockstar.
How big is the GTA 6 download?
Unannounced. Rockstar has never published an install size. Treat any specific figure circulating online as unverified and plan for a large download.
The Bottom Line
One month out, the confirmed calendar is two dates: preload on November 12 and launch on November 19. Everything else, including review timing, PC, discs and the tribunal ruling, is reported rather than announced. The practical work in the next four weeks is unglamorous: free up storage, protect yourself from spoilers that will arrive earlier than you expect, ignore every early access offer, and start your preload the day it opens.
